Dermal Fillers

Dermal Fillers are treatments designed to fix facial wrinkles quickly and effectively. These dermal fillers are registered pharmaceutical products with a very high degree of purity. They are injected directly into wrinkles to fill out and immediately smooth the lines, resulting in a fresher, more youthful appearance.

The TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration) Regulations prevent us from naming the product on this web site. However we can discuss the treatment fully during a consultation at the clinic.

Which Lines can be treated?

Aged and sun damaged skin is wrinkled, due to loss of natural collagen in the dermis. Smile and Frown lines, “crows feet”, horizontal forehead lines, upper lip “smokers lines”, nasolabial lines and sagging corners of mouth can all be treated. In addition, acne scars, can be improved. Dermal fillers can also be used for lip enhancement – to enhance and define your lips.

What does Treatment Involve?

During treatment sessions, tiny amounts of the dermal filler are injected into the wrinkles, scars or lips. In sensitive areas, especially around the mouth, a local anaesthetic block or cream is applied to ensure the treatment is painless. There is little aftercare required, and you can resume your normal activities immediately afterwards.

Limitations of Treatment

As all dermal fillers are natural substances, they are gradually absorbed by the body. Each treatment can be expected to last 3 – 6 months. Please note that for deeper wrinkles caused by skin sag, other forms of treatment may be more appropriate.

Costs

Dermal Filler Treatments cost from $385, depending on the amount used.

Your Assessment

It is important you consult a Cosmetic Physician or dermatologist. An individual assessment of your skin type and your main cosmetic concerns is made. Depending on your individual needs, dermal fillers may be prescribed alone or in combination with other treatments to achieve the results desired.

Dermal Fillers are treatments designed to fix facial wrinkles quickly and effectively.

They are injected directly into wrinkles to fill out and immediately smooth the lines.

This results immediately in a more youthful appearance.
Case Study 1: NasoLabial Lines (Nose to Mouth Lines)

NasoLabial Lines run from the edge of the nose down to the corners of the mouth. As we age these lines become progressively deeper and longer, an unmistakable sign of facial ageing.

Dermal fillers placed acccurately within the skin in these areas will act to make these lines shallower and shorter. The aims are to reverse their appearance to that of several years before. Usually 1-2 ml of a dermal filler is used , with immediate improvement of these lines.

The result— shorter, shallower nasolabial lines, giving a more youthful appearance for several months.

Case Study 2: Upper Lip Liners (Smokers Lines)

Smokers lines are fine lines that radiate out from the lip edges above and below the lips when we talk or move our lips. They are especially obvious when you purse your mouth. Such lines are part of the facial ageing process and do not occur in non smokers too.

0.5—1 ml of dermal fillers placed into these creases will soften the apperarance of these lines, making them significantly less obvious. The result— an immediate improvement of your facial appearance for several months.

As a bonus, such a treatment can also be used to enhance the upper lip edge and result in a much better appearance of the lip and mouth area.

Case Study 3: Marionette Lines (Corner of Mouth Lines)

Marionette Lines run down from the corners of the mouth. As we age these lines also become deeper and longer. Not only is this a sign of facial ageing, but is gives you a “down in the mouth expression”.

Dermal fillers placed correctly within the skin will make these lines appear much shallower and smaller. Usually 1-2 ml of dermal filler is used, with an immediate improvement obvious.

As a bonus, a second aim of treatment is to reverse the “down in the mouth” expression by aligning the remaining crease horizontally. This results in a more neutral, less depressed facial expression.
